Dear Parents and Community Members,
We begin our ISAT Tests on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Please make sure that your students are well rested, fed, and on time for school. Students who are late will not be allowed in the classroom and will have to take the test at a later time. Students who are on time and ready to be tested with their class will perform better on the tests.
Mr. Reed, who teaches English to our parents, is back and ready to help our parents improve their English. The class is on Friday mornings at 8:15 in the school lunchroom. All parents and community members are invited to attend. If you have to bring a younger child they are also welcome to attend. It is such a positive example to our students to see adults participating in the learning process.
We are still working on our School Improvement Plan and ask that you please return the surveys that were sent home. I want to thank those parents who have sent them back and hope to incorporate many of your suggestions in the School Improvement Plan. Some of the suggestions are out of our control due to Chicago
Public School policies or union contracts, but we really appreciate your contributions.
Parents are reminded not to drive into the school parking lot during school hours. We must be vigilant concerning the safety of our students. Parents who are waiting for the horses to be taken down in the morning are causing their students to be marked tardy. The tardies become part of the student’s record. Hopefully, March will bring us some warmer weather and give our students a chance to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.
